SKILLS FOR CHANGE + TIFF presented STORIES OF HOME
On Thursday, October 11th, the Women Connecting with Women program hosted a successful newcomer women film programme in partnership with TIFF Community Initiatives.
This film programme called STORIES OF HOME, a celebration of diverse voices and experiences on screen, showcased a number of exceptional short films created by Canadian immigrant women filmmakers. The screening was followed by a Q&A and reception at the TIFF Bell Lightbox!
Speakers included Karen B.K. Chan, Lina Rodriguez, Alejandra Higuera, and Haya Waseem.
A diverse group of women came to the event and got opportunity to interact and network with each other as well the filmmakers. A wonderful reception following the screening brought together the filmmakers and the event attendees as well as staff at Skills for Change.
We want to thank our community partner TIFF Community Initiatives for hosting this event!
The event was held the International Day of the Girl.
