Skills for Change is offering a free Entrepreneurship training program to assist Black Youth in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton (GTHA) region. The Black Youth in Entrepreneurship (BYE) will serve the purpose of assisting and teaching Black youth to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and knowledge on entrepreneurship and mental well-being.

The BYE program is supported by MONAT Gratitude which is a 10-week virtual program for Black youth aged 16-29 wanting to enhance their entrepreneurial skills, in the GTHA region.

What to expect?
The program will provide introductory fundamentals and tips to starting your own business. The program will touch on a variety of topics including business marketing, financial literacy and launching strategies.

  • This is a virtual program that will be offered online
  • 10 week duration with a 4 hour weekly commitment, weekly office hours
  • Weekly one on one support to navigate program material and networking support
  • Familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of building a business and how to access the appropriate resources
  • Must identify as a Black person
  • Youth ages 16-29
  • Has an interest in being an entrepreneur and wants to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Interested to connect with likeminded startups and mentors through the program
  • Must commit to finish the 10 week training program
  • One on one mentorships
  • Start building your own networks in the business sector
  • Access resources and support to take your business from an idea to an operational business
  • Learn skills to manage stress and anti-black racism as an entrepreneur
