This is a Free virtual workshop on mindfulness. In this session we will discuss:
- What mindfulness means
- Components of mindfulness
- Why practice it? How it can be beneficial
- Forms and ways of practicing mindfulness
- A brief mindfulness meditation will be included
- Time for discussion and questions/answers will be included

Tuesday, July 13th: 10 -11:30 a.m.: Reducing stress and anxiety
This is an interactive workshop for all individuals (adults) who would like to reduce their stress and/or feelings of anxiety. We will discuss what contributes to stress, and how to live a healthier and calmer life. Activities such as a brief meditation, journaling, and self-compassion are included. Participants who would like to share their concerns are welcome to do so. A certified counsellor will facilitate this workshop and will explain how you can receive more support if you need it. This virtual support group is a personal development support group, facilitated in Farsi/Persian language. The participants will have an opportunity to connect and speak virtually, in a safe and supportive space to share and discuss topics related to personal development, life skills, practical psychology, philosophy and literature. They can also introduce and share their favorite books and resources to help them with their personal development further. A certified counsellor will facilitate this support group. This is a virtual workshop to learn about different ways of processing and expressing your emotions in a safe and healthy way. You do not need to be a professional artist or have prior experience. It is helpful to have some tools/media (e.g., color pencils) and it can be as simple as paper and pen/pencil. This virtual session will be facilitated by a certified counsellor. July 28th: 10-11:30 a.m.: Benefits of exercise and physical activity on mental health
This is a virtual workshop on the benefits exercise and physical activity can have on mental health. Tips and strategies for using exercise to manage stress and anxiety, different types of exercises to try for relaxation and an interactive exercise activity will be the focus of this workshop. The goal of the workshop is for participants to learn about the benefits of exercise on their mental health and ways to gradually introduce physical activity into their lives.
