Toronto, Ontario, November 21, 2022 – Skills for Change is pleased to announce Christelle Francois (she/her) as our new VP of Government Affairs and Strategic Partnerships. Christelle will be joining Skills for Change’s Executive Leadership Team, reporting into CEO Surranna Sandy and will be based in Toronto, with a portfolio to expand into the Canadian market.
Skills for Change’s strategic partnership strategy has contributed greatly to the growth of our organization, seeing an increase of $2.5 million in funding in 2021-2022. Christelle will be instrumental to this continued growth, in building our strategy with government, industry partners, community leaders and related regulatory agencies and associations. With a focus on the future, her portfolio will aim to create strategies to address shifts in public policy and the challenges facing immigrants and refugees, racialized groups, job seekers and employers.
Christelle brings her diverse work and educational background as a bilingual executive leader and entrepreneur, who has the pulse on the leaders of business, innovation and advocacy. She comes to us from the Federation of African Canadian Economics, as the former Executive Vice-President; before that, she was the President of the Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce and Senior Marketing Manager, Automation MCAP. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Hon. Psychology/ Minor Political Science) from Concordia University and a Certificate in Management from McGill University.
