Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m Chantell Crooks. I was born in Jamaica. I love languages. Spanish was the first language I fell in love with. I lived and taught ESL in Japan for about 12 years so Japanese is like my second language now . I’m into fashion , love bright colours, love to laugh and love to encourage others. I love traveling and taking time to learn about other cultures(people,food and language).
How did you first learn about Skills for Change?
I learned about SfC on LinkedIn because some of my contacts were always liking the content. I also attended many of the webinars during COVID-19
What do you do at Skills for Change?
I’m a Bridge2Work Specialist for the Trades Win Support Program at our Brampton office.
What do you like doing outside of work/on your days off?
I love cooking Jamaican and other foods from around the world . I like watching Korean dramas to learn the language. I also play word games to sharpen my mind and dominoes(Jamaican style).
What is the favourite part about working for Skills for Change?
My favourite part about working for Skills for Change is that the entire organization is tight knitted. It’s my second week and I feel so supported and encouraged to perform my roles and duties.
