HOURS: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday, with occasional evening
and/or weekend hours)
PAY RATE: $20.52

END DATE: March 31, 2020 (extension based on funding)

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: With 37 years of operations, Skills for Change is a highly respected non-profit with a province wide reputation for pioneering programs that respond to shifting immigration and workplace trends and lead to employment. Skills for Change provides multi-sited employment, job skills, career exploration through mentoring and entrepreneurship, job development, and language and settlement programs and services throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas.
PROGRAM NATURE AND SCOPE: To provide high quality and responsive services to support refugee and immigrants successfully adjust, integrate into the Canadian environment and become self-sufficient. This role will assist with the recruitment and matching of clients with a mentor and to recruit employers to support clients mentoring and employment needs. Reporting to the Supervisor, Employer Engagement
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
◉ Provide information to clients regarding SfC employment programs and services.
◉ Assist with community outreach, as required.
◉ Manage job fairs, recruitment events, mentoring events – tracking pre and post event registration, developing logistics plan.
◉ Assist with marketing and communications for employment-related programs and events.
◉ Assist in the development of tracking information related to program marketing efforts for employment programs.
◉ Manage employer accounts, maintain and report tracking information of employer engagement initiatives undertaken to enhance employer relationship
◉ Provide continuous mentor matching and support to ensure
◉ Establish goals to expand and continually improve employer engagement with mentoring overtime and measure the efficiency of this engagement, in terms of impact on clients matches to employed outcome workshops
◉ Develop a mentoring recruitment and engagement strategy for employers and individual mentors. Recruit mentors for clients with a focus on supporting their networking and employment goals.
◉ Market mentoring to community agencies, especially partners, to stimulate client referrals.
◉ COJG administration including site visits, form collection, data entry into CAMS, Salesforce and claims forms processing
◉ Facilitate screening of mentor/mentee matches and ensure orientation completion
◉ Match mentee clients with established mentor and social mentoring activities and events including info sessions, mentoring events, special mentoring activities.
◉ Execute other duties and tasks required by the Supervisor of Employer Engagement and Program Marketing
◉ Participate in agency marketing and promotion to various stakeholders including networking sessions and special events.
◉ Maintain positive professional relationships and communication links with public and other relevant community resources.
◉ Participate in the agency distribution, collection, and analysis of participant surveys and other evaluation and tracking procedures
◉ Share information relevant to inform in-demand skills and education training to SFC
◉ Stay abreast of clients market-demand trends, changes in various sectors/industries
◉ Develop and strengthen ties between our Employer engagement strategy and the full array of current Skills for Change programs and services.
◉ Update internal and external databases (TRIEC, Salesforce) with mentoring mentor/mentee matching.
◉ Continually review and update the mentor database in order to facilitate effective matching, ensuring relevant mentoring opportunities.
◉ Maintain client case management files, follow up with clients and update required statistical reports
◉ Handle additional tasks as required by the Supervisor and Manager of Programs and Services.
◉ Participate in all meetings and Agency events as required ◉ Provide general administrative support and contribute to projects as assigned by the supervisor.
QULAIFICATIONS:
◉ Post-Secondary degree in marketing, administration, social services, immigrant settlement or any other related discipline is required
◉ At least 2 years experience in client relationship management, or recruitment strategies, marketing to employers through various sales approaches and business acumen
◉ Excellent facilitation and employment counselling skills
◉ Experience in vocational counselling with adults an asset
◉ Strong interpersonal and client focused skills as well as a positive attitude towards change
◉ Demonstrated ability to develop goals and action plans with participants
◉ Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
◉ Proficiency in MS Office, Google suite and ability to create and deliver presentations
◉ Superb time management and teamwork skills
◉ Knowledge of the current labour market, employer expectations, training and education requirements
◉ Understanding of issues of concern to refugee and immigrants
◉ This position requires travel a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a vehicle for the purpose of on-site visits is an asset
◉ Ability to secure a Police Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory and must be provided prior to starting employment.
