Accounting Essentials is an introduction to bookkeeping that includes clerical accounting, finance, and general office administration. Each session includes a lecture and exercises to reinforce the concepts. Gain a strong base in the fundamentals as a good foundation for computerized accounting. This course covers the complete accounting cycle and is designed for those who are interested in working in the areas of bookkeeping, clerical accounting, finance or general office work, or are looking to review their accounting knowledge. QuickBooks Essential with Accounting introduces the concepts of bookkeeping and accounting using the theory of double entry bookkeeping and learning computerized accounting through QuickBooks. - Accounting Terminology
- Assets, Liabilities and Owners Equity
- Creating Accounts
- Making and Adjusting Entries
- Creating and Reviewing Financial Statements
Part II (5 Weeks):
- Company/Partnership/Sole trader set up in QuickBooks
- Getting around the home page drop down menus, icon tool bar and navigator windows
- Transaction entries (cash sales, cheques, invoices)
- Creating a company and accounts
- Setting up customers and suppliers (A/R and A/P)
- Bank Reconciliations
- Chart of accounts, journal entries
- Trial balance, Income statements and balance sheet
- Working with a non-profit comopany

About the Course Classes are held in a Classroom or Computer Lab Completion

Prerequisite Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and intermediate level of English.
