Why Be the Boss?

Be the Boss is an exciting way for you to explore the concept of entrepreneurship with your friends, all while having fun and getting to know your City. Discover your City, meet new people, and put your teamwork skills to the test in a race around Toronto on the TTC. Complete a series of questions, activities and challenges to win the grand prize! First place team will win prizes of up to $500 in value.

Registration is FREE. Bus tickets and refreshments provided.

Event information

When: Friday, August 12, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the City of Toronto (Dufferin and Finch area). Exact location disclosed upon registration.

Contest Rules:

1. Play as an individual or be strategic! Form a team of three to five friends; name your group

2. Register online. Accept the contest rules. We will also email you the parental consent form which is to be signed and presented on the day of the event

3. Participate in face-to-face orientation from August 5 to 12; return signed consent form and pick up your kits

4. Decide on a business idea; follow the clues and find businesses resources in your community

5. Accumulate points; earn volunteer hours, win prizes

6. Pitch your business idea to win the grand prize!

7. Join the paint party and have fun

*You are eligible to register if you are between the ages of 12 and 19 and are starting high school or returning to high school in the Fall of 2016.
